Homework
Homework
Continuing from last academic year, homework will be provided a little differently. Each week, on Friday, class teachers will send home homework online or in physical form. Due to the effective, efficient and valuable learning online, we will continue to send some weeks work by uploading it onto Purple Mash in the form of a 2Do. Other weeks will be in the form of a physical homework book in which pupils must complete their tasks and return their books. We appreciate some families will have preferences for both formats and therefore have agreed a combination of both options will support everyone.
Homework is a great way to top up the learning that has taken place within the classroom. In most cases, staff will send home work related to the topic areas taught within the week or areas that have been covered prior to it being sent home.
Within Year 2 we will alternate between Maths, English and creative homework tasks. Some weeks there may be both to support the learning that has taken place. It also gives your children a chance to show of their knowledge. Some weeks a table of creative challenges (linked to our COJO unit) may be uploaded for children to complete at their leisure throughout a half term.
We expect Year 1 & 2 to be reading for at least 10 to 15 minutes a day as well as regularly practising spellings throughout the week.
Please contact school if you have any questions in relation to anything mentioned above.
Thank you.
Mrs Allton
It is really important that children continue to practise their number and letter formation.
Here you will find some resources that will help you with that at home.
Number formation
Cursive letter formation
We are continually practising our counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.
Here are some of the songs we use in class to help us. It would be wonderful if children could share these at home and continue with their counting skills.
