Homework

Homework

As we continue to follow Government advice to reduce the amount of items being brought into or taken from school, homework will be sent home via Purple Mash. Each child has their own Purple Mash log in that they have used during remote learning and homework will be set as a 2Do.

Homework can not be assessed by staff due to differing input from families at home for various reasons / choices as well as reducing what is sent in and out of school. Therefore we are asking parents / carers to review and support their child's learning each week until we are advised differently. Homework is a great way to top up the learning that has taken place within the classroom. In most cases, staff will send home work related to the topic areas taught within the week or areas that have been covered prior to it being sent home.

Within Year 1 & 2 we will alternate between maths, english and creative homework tasks. Some weeks a table of creative challenges may be uploaded for children to complete at their leisure throughout a half term.

We expect Year 1 & 2 to be reading for at least 10 to 15 minutes a day as well as regularly practising spellings throughout the week (once we begin these).

Please contact school if you have any questions in relation to anything mentioned above.

Thank you.

Mrs Allton

It is really important that children continue to practise their number and letter formation.

Here you will find some resources that will help you with that at home.

Cursive letter formation

We are continually practising our counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

Here are some of the songs we use in class to help us. It would be wonderful if children could share these at home and continue with their counting skills.
